Alan was born in Leicester in the UK in May 1976, spending the early part of my life in a village called Braunston, on the junction of the Oxford and Grand Union Canals. The first camera I ever used was my dad's old Olympus OM-10, spending many happy hours taking pictures of the local area, finding the historic water-locks on the canals particularly interesting. When my family moved to Leigh in Lancashire, I discovered a compatible interest in Electronics & Computers, where I left Wigan & Leigh College with a Higher National Diploma in Electronic Engineering. |

Taking my new found skills in computing / electronics to Keswick in the English Lake District, I turned my hand to running a very busy kitchen, working as head chef in the Dog & Gun Public House for 3 years! During this time of my life I developed my networking and people skills, and met Peter Thurrell, with whom I formed Keswick Computer Services. for the next 10 years we built the business up from just the two of us working out of Peter's spare room, to become the largest IT Services Provider in the North Lakes Area, employing 15 people and servicing over 3000 customers. |
| In seeking a seachange I came to Australia and discovered Coffs Harbour. finding myself captivated by the beauty and variety of this place, I have combined my newly re-discovered love of photography with the wealth of landscapes to photograph in the area. My first foray into Digital SLR Cameras came with a Nikon D40, progressing from the kit lenses up to more sophisticated lens and filter combinations, while using a variety of adobe programs to develop the photographs and upload onto this, our new website. |
